Pommies Chilli

Pommies Chili

This process may be long, but is worth the wait! Stay warm this November with our delicious Pommies Chili.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

2 lb of ground beef
1 bottle of Pommies Dry Cider
2 tbsp of olive oil
1/2 cup of water
1 1/2 tsp of salt
1 15 oz can of black beans
1 15 oz can of kidney beans
4-6 garlic cloves (minced)
2 large onions (chopped)
2 red bell peppers (chopped)
1/2 cup of fresh cilantro (chopped)
2 cans of diced tomatoes
2 tbsp of ground cumin
2 tbsp of chili powder
2 teaspoons of dried oregano
1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 6 oz cans of tomato paste
1 tbsp of maple syrup

DIRECTIONS:

Put ground beef into a skillet and add the olive oil and garlic. Cook until brown. Put beef into slow cooker, then cover with onions, peppers and diced tomatoes.

In a medium sized bowl, mix the water, tomato paste, salt, cumin, chili powder, oregano, cayenne and maple syrup. Pour evenly over the contents in the slow cooker.

Add the beans and cilantro to the slow cooker, then pour Pommies over the top. Cook on high for 5-6 hours, or low for 10-12 hours. If the chili is too thin for your preference, remove the lid and let it cook for another hour. If it's too thick, you can always add more Pommies!

Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
