Pommies Cheese Fondue

Pommies Cheese Fondue

This cheese fondue recipe is a no-brainer. Cheese and booze- how could anything be more perfect? And as we always say, we prefer you drink it, but if you insist on bringing Pommies Dry Cider into other areas of your life, we can't blame you.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1 bottle of Pommies Dry Cider
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
3/4 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 pound Gruyere, grated• 1/2 pound sharp Canadian yellow cheddar, grated
3 tablespoons corn starch
1/4 tablespoon cayenne pepper
salt to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Heat in a pot over medium heat the Pommies Dry Cider, garlic, chicken broth and Worcestershire, and simmer for 5 minutes.

Blend the grated cheeses together in a medium bowl and sift the corn starch over the cheese, tossing lightly to coat.

Sprinkle the cheese mixture in small amounts into the warmed liquid in the pot, stirring with a wooden spoon until all the cheese is mixed in and the fondue mixture is thick and smooth. (This will take about 8 - 10 minutes). Finish off by stirring in the cayenne pepper and salt to taste.

Transfer to a fondue pot or double boiler and serve. Suggesdted fondue dippers include sliced French baguette, green apples, baby potatoes, radishes, salami, chorizo or anything else you would like to dip in cheese.

Enjoy with a bottle of Pommies!
