Pommies Steamed Mussels

Pommies and seafood go hand-in-hand with this bacon infused recipe. With these few easy steps, you will have an amazing seafood plate for family and friends. While your at it, pound back a Pommies or two.


3 cups of mussels
1 bottle of Pommies Dry
25 ml of butter
6 strips of smoked bacon (chopped into small pieces)
2 small leeks (sliced)
1 handful of thyme sprigs


Rinse mussels and remove the threads.

Heat half the butter in a pan, then add the bacon and let sizzle until it begins to turn brown.

Add the leeks and thyme. Put everything together in a pan for 4-5 mins until soft.

Turn the heat up high and add the mussels and Pommies. Cover and cook for 4-5 mins. Mix or shake the pan occasionally, until the mussels have opened.

Get rid of any mussels that don't open.

Put the mussels and the other bits onto a plate.

Boil the juices for 1 min, adding the rest of the butter, then pour over the mussels and serve.
